IFS is introducing innovative products from SyAM Software to provide cross-platform monitoring capability with excellent user interface and presentation at low cost.  SyAM's ability to take advantage of new improvements and innovations in chip technologies broadens the scope for improved network health monitoring and administration, and this makes our offering unique.

SyAM's Power Management capabilities offer impressive recurring energy cost savings for businesses - a compelling case for proactive power management in today's energy cost conscious business world.  SyAM's Power Management qualifies for Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund Incentives.

The Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund (CEEF) was created by the Legislature to address Connecticut's increasing energy needs . and rising costs. CEEF offers residential, business, and state and local government consumers rebates and incentives to implement newer, more efficient technologies that conserve electricity. For businesses, there are programs to maximize energy efficiency, lower operating costs and improve productivity.

SyAM Software Signs Agreement with Intel® to Package SyAM Software Desktop Monitor with Select Intel® Desktop Boards

SyAM Software's Desktop Monitor Product To Be Distributed With Select Intel® Desktop Boards Throughout Intel's Global Channel.

(September 7, 2006 - Nashua, NH)
SyAM Software is announcing today a global distribution agreement with Intel® Corporation to package SyAM Software Desktop Monitor product with Intel® Desktop Boards Executive Series and Classic Series. Desktop Monitor is a feature-rich, multi-language application that is simple to deploy and use and that enables proactive systems management. Desktop Monitor extends the built-in manageability capabilities enabled by Intel® vPro™ technology to the SMB market.

"We are very pleased that SyAM Software will be included with Intel boards featuring Intel vPro technology", states Nick Thickins, CEO of SyAM Software. "We have worked with Intel for several months now on combining our software solution with Intel vPro technology's built-in manageability feature. It is compelling that we offer one user interface to the end-user community to manage all Intel desktops," states Mr. Thickins. "However, it is our complementary go-to-market strategy as much as the technology that has enabled this relationship."

"SyAM Software's Desktop Monitor will take advantage of the capabilities of Intel vPro technology to enable improved manageability and security," states Philip Chen marketing director for Intel's User-centered Platform Solutions Division. "Desktop Monitor's support of Intel technologies will enable users to realize many of the benefits of Intel vPro technology."

At a business level, the relationship between SyAM Software and Intel provides substantial benefits to the Intel channel. Desktop Monitor will ship as a free local version with limited features end-users can use indefinitely. To unlock the full power of the software, however, users pay a licensing fee of $39 per desktop to access richer central management capabilities.

Desktop Monitor enables channel partners to offer valuable managed services to their clients. The product's built-in remote management capabilities empower administrators in off-site call-centers to monitor, quickly diagnose, and resolve issues with the overall goal of reducing "mean time to repair". Desktop Monitor also supports Intel's global customers with multiple languages localized to specific regions.

When combined with Intel vPro technology, Desktop Monitor's management capabilities enable administrators to reach systems that are in a non-functioning state. It also allows administrators to remotely control the downed system and perform critical functions through a browser. Previously, to achieve the same results, administrators would have had to make a desk-side visit or end-user site visit. The savings in time and money are substantial.

"This is another important step in our strategic plan to become the recognized leader in systems management tools for system builders, managed service providers and empowerment of end-user system administrators," states Mr. Thickins. "We greatly appreciate the commitment that Intel has shown in our mutually beneficial commercial relationship."

About SyAM Software: SyAM Software is a developer of three Systems Area Management tools: Notebook Monitor, Desktop Monitor, and Server Monitor. All products are easy to deploy, learn, and use and can be downloaded from the company web site free of charge (www.syamsoftware.com). Local products can be used free of charge indefinitely. However, to unlock the real power of the products, users should purchase Central Management licenses. Enterprises benefit from these solutions with increased levels of visibility and manageability of their systems. SMBs benefit from a comprehensive solution that empowers administrators to reduce costs, manage more systems with fewer resources, and increase uptime and overall productivity. Major business benefits include reduced energy costs, simplified and automated asset tracking, remote monitoring and resolution, reduced complexity and reduced total cost of ownership. SyAM Software and Intel® vPro™

SyAM Software has worked extensively to optimize our System Area Management software to support Intel's vPro enabled systems. Our latest software release extends our powerful management capabilities to support Intel's vPro out of band functionality.

SyAM Software's products and Intel vPro enabled hardware allow administrators to manage systems much more effectively, even systems that are in a non-functioning state. Administrators can:

  • Bring systems online through power on/off/reset
  • Reconfigure the desktop system, through a web browser using Serial Over LAN, as it boots up
  • Diagnose and perform remote fixes to desktops in a pre-operating state using the IDE-Redirection capabilities

Best of all, administrators can access this functionality through the same easy-to-use interface that they use to manage fully functional systems.
